My new motor that only has just a hand full of passes on it has giving me problems.  How much ring land would someone want when building a nitrous motor?  My combo is with a dart block, 3.75 stroke, 6.250 rod with a 9.470 deck height.. The first few passes with a 175 shot the ring lands lifted on 1,4, and 5.. Put it back together with new pistons and ran it again and did the same thing and this time it got number 7 and 3 rod bearings and a couple more pistons besides the corners.. Any sugg. from anyone?   The guy's at my local dyno shop told me it was too much fuel and the 2nd time they said it was too lean.  Will not enough ring land cause this to happen?  Thanks,
             Charles

Spoke to my engine guys he jumped on the site and took a look. First thing he said is he has seen his many of times. Can be caused by what you have listed there and where it is lifting is the weakest part of the piston looks to be on the intake side correct. He said he would pull timing out of it that can be a cause in the lifting of the ring land but without having everthing in front of him its very hard to figured it out but would start there first.

Thanks for the help man..  The land is lifted up on both the intake and the exhaust sides..  I talked to diamond and they told me that he would move the rings down and coat them.  I had .260 of ring land and a guy local to me builds turbo engines and he said he never builds one with no less than .300" of land..  What you think of that?
